Stephen Graner leads the final 7 in chip count - EPT Prague 2014
The European Poker Tour Prague 2014 Main Event reaches its ultimate day this Wednesday after an intense five-day poker battle at the Hilton Prague Hotel. It is still worth mentioning that 1,017 poker players join the festivity this year, but only 7 of them now remain in contention of the highly coveted trophy. 22 survivors battled it out on Tuesday (Day 5); soon after five 90-minute levels of play, the 22-player field of the EPT Prague 2014 Main Event gradually trimmed to its final 7. USAs Stephen Graner wrapped up the day on top of the chip count. He now possesses 12,405,000 chips heading to the Final; of course, he is the best-placed to win the title and eventually eclipse his poor final-table finish in the 2014 WSOP poker tournament in Las Vegas last summer. Recall that the American poker pro finished 6th place in the 2014 World Series Of Poker Millionaire Maker, a not-too-bad finish which allowed him to add $ 273,854 into his career-earnings.
The 7 finalists are actually guaranteed to take home a minimum gain of 129,390; as for the first-place finisher, the lucky one will be awarded 969,000. Admittedly, the final table promises to be excitingly challenging since the remaining players are all regular competitors in such level of tournament. Though Swedens Anton Bertilsson has about 1/3 of the chip leaders stack, his 7,740,000 chips (second in chip count) makes him a man to watch in the battle. Coming third is Germanys Fabio Sperling (4,710,000), followed by his compatriot Bjorn Wiesler (3,285,000), Simon Mattsson (2,130,000), UKs Jonathan Wong (1,900,000) and Frenchman Remi Castaignon (1,030,000).
