Belgian Poker Challenge: Victory of the Belgian Arne Coulier at the Main Event
The Belgian Poker Challenge (WPT) was the tournament of the end of year in Belgium. This 10th edition brings together stars of poker game in the poker room of the casino of Namur for a weekend. The title was played between French and Belgians, because they were strongly represented during this 1,100 tournament in the casino of Namur. The winner of this event, who is none other than the Belgian Arne Coulier eliminated numerous stars of poker. Indeed, the Main Event of the BPC was honored by the presence of numerous great poker player such as Davidi Kitai and Pierre Neuville, the French Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, the Canadian Sorel Mezzi and the American Chino Rheem.
683 players were registered at the beginning of the tournament, but the field was quickly reduced to 9 at the opening of the last day. At the end of the competition, it's Arne Coulier who won at home after a heads-up with Franck "chico7878" Boyer. The Belgian pocketed 113,820 while the French realize during this event his best performance out of his country in terms of earnings. In spite of his victories at the Silver Championship of the EFOP 2012 and in a 1,000 tournament of the Cercle Wagram in 2011, its in Namur that Franck Boyer cashed his biggest winning in his career, namely a second prize of 72,000. The rest of the final table was composed by Wim Neys at the 3rd place for 50,618, followed by Tony Lefort (4th, 37,505), Daniel Domb (5th, 27,801), Cheng-Wei Yin (6th, 21,375), Maarten Smidt (7th, 16,458), Gabi Mrad (8th, 12,655) and Bart Lybaert (9th, 11,278).
