Mathias Bergsteiner wrapped Day 1A up as a chip leader - MPS Poker Royale
As agreed, Royal Poker Vienna has been running another leg of the Mega Poker Series tour for a few days now. The MPS Poker Royale Main Event is available for a buy-in of 770. 63 players made up the field on Day 1A of the MPS poker tournament. Thanks to the re-entry formula, Sebastian Langrock and Wolfgang Simperl thickened the field, bringing the number of participants to 65. Those who have made the trip to the poker room of Poker Royale include famed icons in the poker industry like Artur Koren, Manig Löser, Pascal Hartmann, Julian Herold, Gerald Karlic, Jens Lakemeier, Michael Huber, Thomas Butzhammer, Michael Sax, Sebastian Langrock and Adrian Apmann.
After eight levels of play, only 32 players survived heading to the next stage. Mathias Bergsteiner ended the day bagging the chip lead. Totaling 393,100 chips, the German poker player is closely followed by two local title contenders, Attila Juhas (363,400) and Gerald Karlic (348,300). Four other players also secure comfortable seats heading to Day 2 battle on Friday, 21 November: Jan Hnilicka (4th in chip count, 327,800), Sebastian Langrock (5th, 274,700), Siarhei Chupadal (6th, 226,500) and Christian Stallinger (7th, 225,900). Listed on the bottom line are Dominik Luisser (30th in chip count), Mario Eder (31st) and Philipp Kieff (32nd) with 42,900, 40,600, and 38,600 chips respectively. This Thursday at16:00, many players are expected to survive out of Day 1B. Niki Kovacs, Aichhe, Hanh Tran, Sonja Kovac and Goran Mandic are among those who will be battling it out for the 2014 MPS Poker Royale title.
