Victory of Phil Hellmuth, his 54th win in career - Pittsburgh Poker Open 2014
Phil Hellmuth has opted for a radio silence for quite a long period. Recently, he has been back on stage by adding another trophy into his record. The 13-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner has just emerged victorious from a new major poker tournament. He first-placed the Pittsburgh Poker Open 2014, the 54th win of Hellmuth over a career spanning 27 years. Phil Hellmuth bested a massive field of 254 players to win the $ 1,000 buy-in event. He beat David "ODB" Baker in the ultimate heads up. As a reward, Hellmuth cashed $ 54,000 for his first-place finish while runner-up Baker settled with $ 40,000 of prize. Surreal week. Won a 2015 Corvette Stingray, filmed ESPN live coverage of WSOP, filmed Poker Night in America, and won Pittsburgh Open Main Event, Hellmuth posted on Twitter early after the win.
Joseph Couden fell to the third place for a gain of $ 19,788, followed by Matt Glantz (4th place, $ 17,315), Derek Dempsey (5th place, $ 14,841) and Michael Marzano (6th place, $ 12,368), the first eliminated player of the six-handed PPO Main Eventtable. The poker battle which took place in the poker room of The Rivers Casino attracted a number of poker celebrities along with notable players; however, most of them hit the rail before the formation of the final table. Jennifer Tilly, Greg Mueller, Tom Schneider, Matt Russell, Jacquiline Moskaw, Jack Schanbacher, Matt Bochkoris and Linda Kenney Baden...were among them.
