Berlin is playing host to the festivity - WSOP Europe 2015
The edition 2014 of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) wrapped up earlier this week with Sweden's Martin Jacobson claiming the title. Indeed, the WSOP circuit attracts a great number of poker enthusiasts in Europe. For seven years now, the World Series of Poker has run a Europe-based poker tour. After England and France, the WSOP Europe 2015 poker tournament will visit Germany. European poker community has been a bit surprised, but such decision seems to be logical given the countrys soaring poker market. Thus, the city of Berlin will succeed London (2007-2010), Cannes and Enghien-les-Bains (2010-2013) in hosting the WSOPE. According to the Executive Director of the WSOP, Ty Stewart, Berlin was chosen to host the next WSOPE thanks to the fact that many German players have regularly participated in the tournament. After all, its high time the WSOP made a stop in the city where many stars of poker like Ole Schemion, Philipp Gruissem, Tobias Reinkemeier, Igor Kurganov, Fabian Quoss and Niklas Heinecker are native of.
Poker enthusiasts are invited to get to Berlin to participate in the unique and major poker event of the year 2015. Recall that Berlin was ruled out of consideration in the European Poker Tour Season 11s schedule. For now, no program has been revealed yet, but the inaugural event could be held in October 2015. 38 golden bracelets were distributed since the creation of the WSOP Europe. Main Events of the previous editions were won by Annette Obrestad, John Juanda, Barry Shulman, James Bord, Elio Fox, Phil Hellmuth and Adrián Mateos.
