Enthronement of Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland - Poker Hall of Fame
Last Sunday at Horseshoe Casino of Las Vegas, the poker community attended the enthronement of Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland among the legends of poker. Both figures have indeed taken their place in the round up of the sphere of poker in the Poker Hall of Fame. For some years, the Poker Hall of Fame was the opening ceremony of the November Nine, the final table of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) which takes place at Penn & Teller Theater at the sumptuous Rio in Las Vegas. A full house welcomed Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland in the Longhorn Room. The enthronement was graced by the presence of Hall of Famers Jack Binion, Doyle Brunson, Linda Johnson Eric Drache and Lyle Berman.
Phil Helmuth and Brian Balsbaugh of Poker Royalty made the speech to accommodate both players in the Poker Hall of Fame 2014. As for Jack Binion, the enthronement of Negreanu and McClelland was also the first opportunity for him to return at Horseshoe Casino in the past 16 years. Phil Helmuth presented the full career of McClelland with his debut as a croupier, his passages at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles and then as director of poker tournaments in Bellagio. Note that Jack McClelland was a key player in the selection of Horseshoe Casino as unofficial host of the World Poker Tour in his early stages. The presentation of Daniel Negreanu was provided by Brian Balsbaugh. Negreanu has been an icon of live poker with many titles both in the WPT as well as in the WSOP. The Canadian admitted that his motivation was to be the pride of his mother.
