Montreal hosts a 19-days poker festival - Playground Poker Fall Classic & WPT
Following the Black Friday case of poker in the United States, Canada has become one of the top poker destinations of American gamblers. It has significantly boosted both online poker and land-based poker markets in the country. Multiple poker tournaments have been run in Canada in recent years; attractive as they are, both players from the US and local gamblers were seduced. Hence, this coming weekend, the largest city of Quebec, Montreal, is playing host to a 19-days of poker festival: the Playground Poker Fall Classic 2014 & the World Poker Tour Montreal. Housing the festivity is Kahnawakes Playground Poker Club from November 9 to 27, 2014. This is actually a great opportunity for local legends, including Jonathan Roy and Derrick Rosenbarger, to defend their titles. Both men respectively won the WPT Montreal titles in 2012 and 2013.
During these 19 days of poker festival, Playground Poker Club will run 13 events alongside satellite tournaments that offer seats for the Main Event and High Roller battle. As usual, the festivity will kick-off with small tournaments of low buy-ins as The Wild $ 150 that guarantees a prize pool of $ 100,000. "The $ 250 Frenzy" is the following low buy-in event with $ 200,000 prize pool guarantee. The curtain will fall with the WPT Montreal poker series. The $ 3,850 buy-in Main Event and the $ 10,400 buy-in High Roller remain the most anticipated battles in this festivity. Any way, participants are invited to take part in various tournaments, ranging from the $ 220 Deepstack Turbo to the $ 220 Survivor, then $ 230 Bounty ($ 100), $ 330 6-Max, $ 330 8-Max and the $ 550 PLO as well.
