Edinburgh hosts the penultimate leg of the Genting Poker Series 2014 - Scotland
The Genting Poker Series (GPS) is one of the most popular poker tournaments in England. The GPS 2014 is now two legs away to come to an end. Edinburgh (Scotland) is playing host to the penultimate stage of the event. Kicking off this Wednesday, October 29 at Genting Club Fountain Park, the Scottish poker festival will be run over five days during which players will be served with four events, the £ 440 buy-in Main Event included. Featuring three-day flights, players will enter the battle with 25,000 chips to play to 24-minutes blinds. The Day 1A battle is held online, in the poker room of GPS partner. Recall that the Main Event guarantees a prize pool of £ 125,000, a great sum to be distributed to the best players of the tournament. Last year, the GPS Edinburgh Main Event gathered 352 players. Mark Lane cashed the £ 30,850 first-place prize out of a total prize pool of £ 140,800.
The GPS 2014 festivity will open with the £ 44 buy-in Holdem freezeout satellite, a great opportunity not to be missed to qualify for the Main Event. Indeed, 10 seats to the Main Event are to be won. Another seat is also offered in a special golf tournament (for £ 65 of entrance fee) held prior to the Main Event. While only the winner of the golf tournament will be awarded the single seat, the second, third and forth place finishers will be given respectively £ 100, £ 50 and £ 25 of prizes. As for Side Events, choices are ranging from £ 55 NL Hold'em to £ 85 NL Hold'em and £ 35 NL Hold'em as well.
