The holding of the France Poker Series Paris is overshadowed - Cercle Cadet
In the previously planned schedule 2014 of the France Poker Series (FPS), Parisian gambling club Cercle Cadet should host the Paris leg of the tour from November 21 to 30. However, things are likely to change as the current evolution of the shady deal in which Paris-based gambling club are involved threatens the holding of major poker tournaments. FPS Paris is one of the most anticipated events by poker enthusiasts in France and from neighboring countries. Note that the FPS Paris attracted 800 players last year. But the temporary closure of the Cercle Cadet after that of the Aviation Club de France (ACF) shed doubt on the possible holding of the FPS Paris. May we remind you that the online poker site that partnered with Cercle Cadet had already run satellite qualifiers for the Main Event and the FPS High Roller since last weekend. This week, the FPS Paris Poker Week would grant 75 tickets. Due to this unprecedented situation, Cercle Cadet was forced to cancel the event.
Facing this irritating situation, Cercle Cadet announced on its facebook page and on its website that in case the room remains closed, players who qualified online could participate in another stage of the FPS tour or swap their seats against tickets for the 2014 FCOOP. Back to the Cercle Cadet case, note that it is more complicated than that of ACF. In addition to charges of irregularities in employment and breach of trust the two Parisian gambling clubs are all suspected of, Cercle Cadet is also singled out in embezzlement and money laundering. All of these matters overshadow the scheduled kick-off of the FPS Paris on 21 November.
