George Danzer claimed his third WSOP bracelet - WSOP APAC 2014
Alongside the ongoing European Poker Tour London festivity at the Grand Connaught Rooms, many poker globe-trotters have flied to Australia to participate in the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific (WSOP APAC). Poker stars including Jonathan Duhamel and Scott Clements are among those who made the poke-trip to Australia. Both men final tabled the $ 5,000 AUD Eight-Game Mix event. Indeed, George Danzer won another WSOP bracelet Sunday in the poker room of Crown Resorts- Melbourne. Note that the $ 5,000 AUD Eight-Game Mix event is the Event # 8 of the WSOP APAC this year. The German professional poker player bested a field of 48 participants to grab his third WSOP bracelet of the year. He is now the sixth player in WSOP history to win three gold bracelets in a single year. He has thus entered the closed circle of poker legends including Puggy Pearson, Phil Hellmuth, Ted Forrest, Phil Ivey and Jeff Lisandro.
This third bracelet has allowed him to garner some additional points for the Card Player "Player of the Year" race. For his first-place finish, George Danzer cashed USD 74,193 and now secures the drivers seat of the 2014 POY race with 180 points. Eliminated in the final heads-up, Scott Clements fell to second place for $ 45,902 (150 points), followed by Jonathan Duhamel ($ 30,073, 120 points), Ismael Bojang ($ 20,774, 90 points), Tino Lechich ($ 15,234 , 75 points) and Sam Khouiss ($ 11,673, 60 points). This Monday October 13, the WSOP APAC poker tournament is running the Day 1B of the $10,000 AUD No-Limit HoldEm Main Event.
