Luuri Nesterenko edged Dominique for a second FPS title win - FPS Cannes 2014
The third stage of the France Poker Series (FPS) concluded on Sunday, October 5, with the Main Event emerging its winner after a tough battle that lasted about ten hours. Those who made it through the final table are Luuri Nesterenko, Dominique Franchi, Silma Macalou, Michael Poirier, Jean-Marie Peyron, Vladyslav But, Nicolas Guest, Lado Momcilovic and Hugh Cohen, the nine survivors of the 582-player field of the poker event. The said field generated a prizepool of 558,720, 327,730 of which was shared out among the finalists. Indeed, the final table of the FPS Cannes was played in the poker room of the Pullman Cannes Mandelieu Royal Casino on Sunday. Luuri Nesterenko bested the field after a tough heads-up against Dominique Franchi. Both players wrestled for two hours, and that the end of the game saw Luuri prevailed over his opponent.
Luuri Nesterenko thus added 91,000 into his coffers following the 150,000 first-place prize he cashed in the FPS Monaco in April. In the space of six months, Luuri Nestrenko actually wins two FPS titles. For his second place, Dominique Franchi headed to Royal Casino exit with 63,400 of consolation prize. Silma Macalou fell to third place and took home 46,500, followed by Michael Poirier (4th, 36,700), Jean-Marie Peyron (5th, 28,200), Vladyslav But (6th, 21,100), Nicolas Guest (7th, 16,200), Lado Momcilovic (8th, 13,230) and Hugh Cohen (9th, 11,400). Sebastien Lapeyre, the one who is famed for the show La Maison du Bluff, was the bubble boy of the final. He consoled himself with 10,050 for his 10th place.
