Frances Justice suspected Aviation Club de France to tie links with illegal operations
As we all know, Aviation Club de France has been famed as the haven for live poker tournaments in Paris, the reputation of which is owed to its regular tournaments like the ACF Cup, and countless more. The Aviation Club de France is also known for hosting such major events like the World Poker Tour National Series of Paris. In recent days however, the ACF has made the headlines of local newspapers. This time, the focus is not on its enticing poker tournaments. Actually, the ACF has been subject to searches and arrests. The Judicial Police (DCPJ) and its gambling commission body raided the gambling facility last Tuesday and arrested a number of persons presented in the room.
Information has been given out in dribs and drabs, driving the Justice to suspect ACF for undertaking undeclared operations, breach of trust and money laundering. Tens of persons, including Marcel Francisci_ the ACF President and iconic figure of the Corsican politics_ were arrested. Note that Francisci is the Leader of the Association of Sarkozys Friends in South Corsica; he is also the vice-president of Air Corsica and holds a position in the General Council of the South Corsica. The deputy director of the poker room along with several former employees of the ACF, are also included among the arrested persons. The raid has been carried out following a rogatory commission by Paris investigating judges Claire Thépaut and Serge Tournaire. During an interview with 20 Minutes a couple of months ago, Charles Pellegrini explained that there is nothing illegal within the ACF. Any way, the black clouds are expected to heat up prior to the next edition of ACF CUP, which is scheduled from October 17 to 19, 2014.
