Darlene Lee bags as chipleader of the WPT Borgata Poker Open Day 1B

With its1,226 entrants, the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open now boasts its fourth largest WPT field in history, the third’s among events held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Actually, the Day 1B attracted 826 players, while the Day 1A saw a field of 400 participants. The 1,226-player field of the € 3,500 Main Event has generated a prize pool of $ 3.9 million, a massive amount that will be shared out among the 120 best players of the said poker tournament. The first who will be sent to the rail is guaranteed to take home a $ 71,621 of prize. For the winner, he will cash $ 843,744. After two-day flights of the event, 605 players including 171 survivors of Day 1A and 434 of Day 1B will return to the poker room of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Tuesday for Day 2 battle.



Of the 434 survivors who made it through Day 1B, 5 players secure comfortable seats heading to Day 2 with more than 150,000 chips. Burnaby’s “Darlene Lee” is among them with 254,900 chips in hand; she is followed by Julio Marrero (208,300 chips), Mike Linster (180,800), Jean Max Gaspard (179,000) and John Broderick (166,500). However, Darlene Lee will enter Day 2 second in chip counts. It is Ben Bianco who claims the lead with an impressive stack of 389,000 chips. Andrew Atkinson (234,900), Allyn Shulman (231,200), Julio Marrero (208,300) and Ray Shackelford (207,700) are also among the ones armed with over 200,000 chips for Day 2.
