Alain Medesan claimed the DSO San Remo title and a 25,000 payday
Poker enthusiasts from France and Italy have moved in great number to San Remo to participate in the Deepstack Open (DSO) poker tournament. Held in the luxurious San Remo Casino, the event concluded with the victory of Roumanias Alain Medesan for 25,000 as he beat Eric White after a tough heads-up. The latter finished at second place for 17,000. As for Enzo Giannasca (3rd), he completed the podium and took home a check of 12,000. Nicolas Heidet secured 4th place for 9,500), followed by Olivier Cossais (5th, 8,100), Dominique Terzian (6th, 6700) Danielle Mazzia (7th, 5,595), Malek Grabsi (8th, 4,500) and Danilo Colomba (9th, 3,700). The 550 DSO Main Event actually seduced 267 players but only 9 players of them returned Sunday to the poker room of San Remo Casino for the final table. In comparison with the previous edition, the 2014 DSO San Remo records an attendance rate increase of 20%.
The event was also marked by an unusual incident right in the middle of the live poker play. Recent winner of the DSO Lloretdel Mar Dominique de Almeida hit another player after his elimination. In fact, Almeida had given him a head-butted that organizers described as unacceptable behavior. So, the organizers made a serious decision to Dominique de Almeida by banning him from all events organized by Texapoker and DSO in the future. Anyway, the next stop of the tour, DSO Aquitaine, will be held from September 25 to 29 in Gujan Mestras.
