Massoud Eskandari leads the final table of six in chip count - WPT Legends of Poker
The first stage of the XIII season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has been in full swing since August 23at Bicycle Casino, Las Vegas. By dropping the buy-in down from $ 5,000 (year 2011) to $ 3,700, the organizers expect to attract an impressive numbers of participants, especially with the new gaming offers being introduced. In fact, “Quantum Reload” has been launched this summer, a new concept allowing players to qualify for the Main Event directly on Day 2, alongside the classic re-entry format of $ 10,000 buy-in. Unfortunately, it does not ignite great desire from participants; actually, the attendance rate in this WPT poker tournament has significantly declined in the past four years. Only 593 entries were recorded in the Main Event of the WPT Legends of Poker, while the year 2013 saw 716 players, 662 in 2012 and 757 in 2011. Speaking of Quantum Reload, it attracted 27 poker players including Greg Mueller, Richard Seymour, Richard Sklar, Layne Flack Keven Stammen, Phil Laak and Ali Eslami yet.
Of the 593-player field, only six managed to reach the final table. The ultimate day in the poker room of Bicycle will define the first winner of the season. At the start of the final table, Massoud Eskandari is well-placed to win the WPT title along with the $ 576,369 payday with his massive stack of 5,975,000 chips. Harut Arutyunyan ranks second in the chip count with 3,670,000 chips; he is followed by Tyler Kenney (2,555,000), Tyler Cornell (2,525,000), Taylor McFarland (2,250,000) and Jeremy Kottler (1,975,000). In any case, all these finalists will cash a minimum gain of $ 83,075 each.
