Hossein Ensan leads the final table - EPT Barcelona 2014 Main Event
After five days of waiting, the final table of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona 2014 Main Event is finally set. Of the 1,496 players who teed off the poker tournament of 5,300 buy-in, only eight competitors survived at the end of Day 5. 25 players had returned to Casino Barcelona, and after a few hours of play, 17 players were ousted, leaving Ji Zhang (Germany), Kiryl Radzivonau (Belarus), Slaven Popov (Bulgaria), Andre Lettau (Germany) Hossein Ensan (Germany), Andrea Dato (Italy), Andrey Shatilov (Russia) and Samuel Phillips (USA) run for the title and the 1.6 million payday.
Former winner of the EPT Barcelona Senior's Event, Hossein Ensan, is the chipleader at the start of the final table with 10,300,000 chips. He is closely followed by Samuel Phillips totaling 9,035,000 chips. Ji Zhang (6,480,000 chips), Andre Lettau (5,515,000) and Slaven Popov (3,720,000) are respectively ranked third, fourth and fifth in terms of chip counts. Andrey Shatilov who finished sixth place in the PCA Main Event2013 will start the battle in the same position with 3,635,000 chips, ahead of Kiryl Radzivonau (7th, 3.42 million) and Andrea Dato (8th, 2,830,000). Though Andrea Dato will start the game as the shortest stack, he is likely to illuminate regarding his wins-filled resume. Interestingly, this Italian poker player has 4 wins in major tournaments, including one in the Poker Grand Prix 2010, Red Sea Poker Cup 2010, IPT San Remo 2013 and in the WPT Venice 2014.
