Olivier Busquet won EPT Barcelonas 50,000 Super High Roller - EPT Season 11
The European Poker Tour Season 11kicked-off on Monday with the EPT Barcelonas 50,000 Super High Roller event; it also celebrated its 100th event the same day. This poker event attracted a great number of talented players. Olivier Busquet topped the 77 player-field to hit the top prize of $ $ 1,191,096. Eleven players reached the In The Money places and shared out a prize pool of nearly $ 3.7 million. Surprisingly, several notable names in poker industry left the tournament empty-handed. Ole Schemion, Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Igor Kurganov, Doug Polk, Fabian Quoss, John Juanda and Vanessa Selbst were among them.
After three days of competition in the poker room of Casino Barcelona, the field was dropped to nine players: Daniel Colman, Mustapha Kanit, Scott Seiver, Olivier Busquet, Morten Klein, Sam Trickett, Dan Shak and Vladimir Troyanovskiy. The final table was hotly contested, especially with the presence of regular live tournament participants with outstanding career achievements. But at the end of the day, Olivier Busquet emerged victorious after a well-fought heads-up against Daniel Colman. The latter, for his runner-up place, earned $ 1,120,186. Before this event, Colman had accomplished two great wins namely in the Big One For One Drop and EPT Grand Final $ 100,000 Super High Roller, bringing his overall career earnings amount to $ 19,534,058. Vladimir Troyanovsky finished third place in the poker tournament for $ 628,743, followed by Scott Seiver ($ 483,914), Sam Trickett ($ 383,199), Sven Reichardt ($ 299,623), Morten Klein ($ 235,845) and Daniel Shak ($ 184,159).
