Ole Schemion secures No.1 - Global Poker Index
German poker pro Ole Schemion leads the Top 300 live tournament poker players in the world on Global Poker Index (GPI) up-to-date rankings of August 18. Daniel Negreanu, Dan Smith, Scott Seiver, Byron Kaverman, Jason Mercier, Paul Volpe and Alex Bilokur are respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place. Jumping up from 15th to 9th place, Mukul Pahuja is now ahead of Jacob Schindler, Erik Seidel, Jonathan Duhamel, Bryn Kenney, Martin Jacobson and Stephen Chidwick. Martin Kozlov is the biggest mover of the week thanks to 220 spots he recently won. He thus entersthe GPI Top 300 at the 294th place, as Craig McCorkell (197th, +115), Oleksii Khoroshenin (236th, +66), Chris Hunichen (261st, +46) and William Chao (268th, +41).
This week, some players have moved up considerable spots while the others end up joining the biggest drops group. Players like Antonio Esfandiari (194th, +50), Antonio Lafosse (198th, +82), Tyler Patterson (199th, +58), Jose Barbero (220th, +43), Mickey Petersen (224th, +34) and Kiryl Radzivonau (245th, +38) secure comfortable places on the list whereas Tom Alner (293rd, -47), Martin Staszko (277th, -42), Roberto Romanello (255th, -21), Benjamin Spindler (252nd, -31), Corrie Wünstel (246th, -24), Rumen Nanev (240th, -24), Alexander Lakhov (225th, -45) and Sergey Rybachenko (208th, -36) gradually head to GPI rankings-exit. With the ongoing European Poker Tour held in Barcelona (including the 50K Super High Roller poker tournament), the next rankings would certainly undergo significant change.
