EPT and GPI work together for a better Season 11 POY Award
The European Poker Tour has been the most famed live poker tour in Europe since its first launch date eleven years ago. And thanks to the fresh partnership between EPT and Global Poker Index, EPT Season 11 Player Of the Year promises to be a little different. Indeed, this season will include some changes in the ranking formula for the Player of the Year Award. In Season 10, the title was awarded to a single player. The EPT POY race was played by top players like Thomas Muhlocker, Stephen Chidwick, Alex Bilokur and Vanessa Selbst. But Germanys Ole Schemion eventually bested them to claim the title with his 1,337.74 points. For Season 11 which has just started in Barcelona, the EPT informed that there will be three Player of the Year leader boards at the end of the season.
And for the first time in its history, there will be three tiers of the POY following Global Poker Indexs formula for poker rankings: EPT 11Player of the Year Gold (the winner is expected to be a player with the best results in High Rollers and in EPT Main Events), the EPT11 Player of the Year Silver (the winner of the award will be the most successful one in all open events with US $ 4,000 and below), and the EPT 11Player of the Year Bronze (the award winner is expected to be the one who will amass the most numerous wins at smaller side events). In its statement, the EPT underlined that it organizes numbers of poker tournaments alongside tours, the buy-ins of which are accessible from $ 100 to $ 100 000. Estrellas Poker Tour, Eureka, UKIPT, French Poker Series (FPS) and the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) are among them.
