Abhishek Khaitan secured the chipleaders seat - UK Poker Championships 2014
While the European Poker Tour is in full swing with its inaugural tournament named Estrellas Poker Tour, the UK Poker Championships, for its part, continues to gain the attention of poker community with its Main Event. Now reaching its final table after three days of fierce competition at Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham, it saw 45 players competing for final day, but only 6 of them managed to secure seats for the final table. Thankfully the 39 players eliminated on the ITM day took home £ 2,250 of prize each. Note that this tournament guarantees 53 paid places. Sam Trickett finished 54th place and was the bubble boy. Other top players were also kicked out to ITM: Keith Johnson (41st), Mathew Frankland (32nd), Paul McTaggart (25th), Tom Middleton (20th), Jon Kalmar (17th), Ben Dobson (15th), Neil Channing (14) and Tommy Bingham (10th) were among them.
Abhishek Khaitan stands atop the final table in terms of chip count with 11,780,000 chips. In general, stacks of his nearest rivals only amount three times less than him: Andy Young has 4,545,000 chips and Stephen Devlin would begin the final table with 4,000,000 chips. The other players in the field are way behind but still in contention for the title. Included on that list are: Leigh Wiltshire with his 2,080,000 chips, followed by Haycock Paul (1,950,000) and Strike Neil (675 000).
