1,310 entries registered heading to the Main Events Day 1C battle - ESPT Barcelona
The Spanish poker festival has been in full swing with the Estrellas Poker Tours Main Event (ESPT), a great tournament held at Casino Barcelona since last weekend. 1,310 entries were registered during the first two starting days of the 1,100 ESPT Barcelonas No Limit Hold'em Main Event, including 438 on Day 1A and Day 1B at 872. This edition 2014 of the Estrellas Poker Tour Barcelona is likely to beat the previous record of attendance. As a reminder, the event attracted 1,798 players last year; this year, the field-board already sees 1,310 entries registered for Day 1C. This third and final day flight of the ESPT is expected to gather more than 1,000 players. In addition to Day 1A and Day 1B fields, the total number of participant would reach over 2,300 poker enthusiasts.
The first two day flights of the ESPTwere played on 10 hours levels of play. 140 players were qualified at the end of Day 1A. Daniel Reijmer was the chipleader of the day with an impressive stack of 209,300 chips. Marcos Fernández was crowned Day 1B chipleader with 239,000 chips, a huge stack that allowed him to be the interim chip count leader of Day 2 flight prior to Day 1C. Many regular participants were qualified for the second day flight of the event, including Juan Manuel Pastor, Eugene Katchalov, Patxi Salinas, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Alejandro Perez, Andrew Chen, Jesús Alfaro, Joao Barbosa and Jake Cody. ElkY and Cody were eliminated while Katchalov and Chen will be back in the poker room of Casino Barcelona for Day 2 battle.
