Austin Lewis won the Main Event with$ 183,025 of prize - CPPW Choctaw
The Main Event of the Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw (CPPW) attracted a lot of poker players for its guaranteed prize pool of $ 500,000. The guaranteed prize pool was far exceeded as 599 participants visited the Choctaw Casino Resort to participate in this event. For a buy-in of $ 1,500 + $ 120, the field generated a prize pool of $ 871,545 of which nearly $ 600,000 was distributed among the finalists. It took only three hours to see the winner of the poker tournament. Indeed, the final table was quick and the final victory played between Gary Luther and Austin Lewis turned rapidly to the advantage of the latter. Austin Lewis began effectively the heads-up with 6,800,000 chips against 5,550,000 for Luther.
Luther had taken the lead before the break of 10 minutes, 6,700,000 against 4,600,000, but Austin Lewis took again the lead before the final victory. In the last hand, Austin Lewis had 10.55 million chips while his opponent had only 1,400,000. Lewis pocketed $ 183,025 in addition to the trophy and CPPW bracelet while Gary Luther settled with $ 113,205 for his second place. In the third place was Omar Zazay for $ 82,779. Zia Khosravi was eliminated in the 4th place for $ 61,426 just after the eliminations of Tyler Morris (5th, $ 46,218), Jason Fitzpatrick (6th, $ 35,254), Mario Silvestri (7th, $ 27,262) and Charlie Nguyen (8th, $ 21,370). Allen Carter was the first to leave the final table. His elimination in the last place of the final still allowed him to went back home with a gain of $ 16,978.
