Two new members will join it by November - Poker Hall Of Fame
By the end of the WSOP 2014s November Nine event, names of the new members who will make up the Poker Hall of Fame will be known. Last year, Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen joined the 44 members of the famous Poker Hall of Fame, a group of professional poker players such as Erik Seidel exception, Mike Sexton, Linda Johnson, Bobby Baldwin, Johnny Chan, Chip Reese, Doyle Brunson, Blondie Forbes, Johnny Moss, Joe Bernstein, Dewey Tomko, Phil Hellmuth and more. These players have met a few criteria that govern the induction into the Poker Hall Of Fame. Eligible players must therefore satisfy the following conditions: aged 40 years-old or more, played for high stakes, must have played poker in a major competition, earned the respect of other players... Poker players from the public are also eligible for the Poker Hall of Fame if they have contributed in recent years to the overall growth of the game of poker. Among them are Mike Matusow, Jennifer Harman, David Chiu, Huck Seed, Humberto Brenes, Thor Hansen, Carlos Mortensen and Chris Bjorin.
The jury selects the new Hall Of Famers from ten candidates chosen by the online poker community. The said jury is composed of 21 personalities including Hall of Famers and a group of journalists. Candidates for this 2014 edition will be determined in September. And after the vote of the jury, the two new members will be inducted into the hall of fame in November with a great ceremony at Penn & Teller Theater in the Rio, Las Vegas, jointly organized alongside the WSOP Main Events final table.
