Doug « WGCRider » Polk wins his first bracelet and a prize of $ 251,969 - WSOP 2014
The online high stakes poker specialist, Doug Polk, has just shined in live tournament by winning the Event#23 of the World Series Of Poker. Since the last couple of months, Doug WGCRider Polk has experienced some setbacks in online tournaments. But this new victory in the world championship of poker seems to give him a sweet taste in live tournament. Indeed, Doug Polk made up his mind to ignore WGCRider and focus more on live poker tournaments. His long-term goals are to find a sponsor and work with different people in other major events. Doug Polk wins the $ 1,000 Turbo-No-Limit Holdem poker tournament by surpassing a field of 1,473 players. In fact, this is his very first WSOP bracelet along with which the American poker player took home a prize $ 251,969 for his first place.
Needless to say, this is Dougs fourth table of this year. Polk finished runner-up, then third-place in the monthly $ 25,000 High Roller event at the Bellagio and fourth in the Aussie Millions $ 100,000 Super High Roller. The final table saw 9 players including notable players such as Phounsavath « Andy » Philachack or the winner of the One Drop High Roller 2013, Tony Gregg. Philachack was kicked back to the rail as runner-up after a Heads-up clash with Doug Polk. The latter had a significant 3-to-2 chip advantage compared to him. Philachack left the room with a win of $ 155,7596. As for Jonathan Hanner, he finished third for $ 102,503, followed by Chad Cox (4th, $ 73,894), Liam Alcock (5th, $ 54,088), Anthony Gregg (6th, $ 40,168), Gianluca Cedolia (7th, $ 30,252) Dash Dudley (8th, $ 23,093) and Andrew Mackenzie (9th, $ 17,857).
