The festivity started - WSOP 2014
The World Series Of Poker 2014 began on Tuesday at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino with two poker tournaments being held: the Casino Employees Event (event #1) and the Mixed Max (event#2). Every year, the WSOP is launched with a special poker tournament dedicated to the personnel of casino. This year, 876 casino employees from all over the world, including the titleholder Chad Holloway, Ty Stewart, Kristy Arnett and Bernard Lee have enrolled in this $ 500 buy-in tournament. Unfortunately, all of them were eliminated on that day. As for the field, it has slightly decreased compared to that of last year (896 participants); but it remains at a relatively high level since the introduction of the Casino Employees Event in wsop schedule in 2009. With a guaranteed prizepool of $ 394,000, the event will offer $ 82,835 of cash for the lucky winner plus a WSOP bracelet.
The Mixed Max event was also part of Tuesday festivity highlights, a 4 days $ 25,000 buy-in tournament that had recorded 131 players. The sevenfold WSOP bracelet winner, Daniel Negreanu, took the step forward by playing in the $ 25,000 Mixed Max Event. This was also the case for Phil Ivey, Sam Trickett, Phil Laak, Brian Rast, Jennifer Tilly and Vanessa Selbst who were all qualified for Day 1. However, some notable figures of poker found themselves prematurely eliminated from the table: Sorel Mizzi, Chino Rheem, Jean -Robert Bellande and Joe Cada. The two poker tournaments continue on Wednesday in the famous Amazon poker room in Rio, Las Vegas.
