GPI: Daniel Negreanu takes back the lead of the ranking, Selbst in the 2nd place
Like each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) poker brings an update of the classification of the 30 best players in live poker tournaments. Daniel Negreanu takes back the lead of the ranking on April 7th, after having been pushed back in the second place by Ole Schemion during last week. By excluding the mishap of last week, Negreanu is at the lead of the GPI Top 300 for the eighth week. The German looses three places and is located behind Vanessa Selbst who occupies this week the second place of the classification. Marvin Rettenmaier and Jason Mercier are always in the 4th and 5th place. Losing two places this week, Dan Smith (8th) remains in the Top 10 but behind Mike McDonald (6th, +1) and Sorel Mizzi (7th, +2). Ravi Raghavan enters in the top 10 and pushes back Shannon Shorr in the 10th place (-2).
The Japanese Naoya Kihara registered the best progress of the week with 106 places won and he is ranked in the 183th place. Holder of a WSOP 2012 bracelet in the PLO - Six Handed, Kihara counted three paid places during the WPT - LA Poker Classic 2014. Paul Berende rises in the classification (73rd, +44), thanks to a paid place in Deauville and a final table in Vienna, two poker events of the European Poker Tour. It's also the case for Michael Mizrachi (143rd, +82), after winning an event of the Live Events International 2014. Phil Hellmuth continues his regression and loses again 36 places to be in the 294th place of the Top 300. Numerous players enter in the ranking following the examples of Joey Weissman (96th), Giuliano Bendinelli (261st), Michel Abecassis (286th), Ryan Welch (287th), Alexander Venovski (288th), Greg Mueller (289th), Jesse Yaginuma (290th), Matt Berkey (291st), Allan Le (293rd) and Jorma Nuutinen (299th).
