GPI: Ole Schemion takes the 1st place, Phil Hellmuth risks to be ousted!
After seven weeks leading in the Global Poker Index (GPI) classification of the 300 best players of live poker tournaments, Daniel Negreanu concedes the throne to the German Ole Schemion. The latter has caught his late on Daniel Negreanu after his 8th place rewarded with 15,000 in the tournament No Limit Hold'em of the EPT Vienna. This week, the Canadian is in the second place of the GPI, according to the update of March 31st of this year. Like during last week, we find Vanessa Selbst occupying the third place of the ranking, followed by Marvin Rettenmaier, Jason Mercier, Dan Smith, Mike McDonald, Shannon Shorr, and Sorel Mizzi who concludes the Top 10 by taking the place of Philipp Gruissem.
The player of poker Jeff Madsen signed the best progress of the week. He won 94,039 places and occupies this week the 77th place of the classification. Madsen registered a remarkable beginning of the year by finishing in the paid places of the eight last tournaments, including victories in 8 Game of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and 8 Game Mix of the WPT LA Poker Classic. Numerous players enter also in the Top 300 this week, following the example of Oleksii Khoroshenin (147th, +260), Jose Garcia (148th, +195), Artur Koren (170th, +156), Walid Bou Habib (207th, +157) or Johnny Lodden (218th, +141). As for players who risk their places in the Top 300, we find notable players like Liv Boeree who lost 62 places (221st), Michael Mizrachi (225th, -26) and Phil Hellmuth (258th, -126).
