EPT Vienna 2014: A beautiful victory at home for Oleksii Khoroshenin
After a week of game at the poker room of Hofburg Palace, the European Poker Tour Vienna has finally found its champion. This third edition of the EPT Vienna has ended on the victory of Oleksii Khoroshenin at home. The Ukrainian has started the final table in the 7th place of the chipcount with more than 2 million chips, while the chipleader, Anthony Ghamrawi, counted more than 5 million. Among the eight finalists of this poker tournament, we found Frei Dilling, Pablo Gordillo, Timo Pfutzenreuter, Simeon Naydenov, Rumen Nanev and Marko Neumann. Oleksii Khoroshenin was left behind at the start of the final table, but his victory was simply well-earned given his performance throughout the tournament. In fact, this 27-year young man has started the Main Event of the EPT Vienna as chipleader by the Day 1A. Everyone expected an overwhelming victory of Anthony Ghamrawi at the beginning of this day of poker but Khoroshenin and Marko Neumann have realized a remarkable comeback. The last heads-up was played between Oleksii Khoroshenin and Anthony Ghamrawi.
The final table guaranteed a minimum prize of 77,000 which went to Rumen Nanev, the first eliminated. Frei Dilling has been eliminated in the 7th place for (108,100), followed by Simeon Naydenov (6th, 151,000), Timo Pfutzenreuter (5th, 203,900) and Pablo Gordillo (4th, 262,150). After a deal with the three remaining players, Oleksii Khoroshenin has pocketed $578,392 for his victory. Anthony Ghamrawi settled with 446,481 and Marko Neumann, shortstack at the start of the day, pocketed 638,127 for a well-earned 3rd place.
