EPT Vienna 2014: Pablo Gordillo, leader of the 50 survivors of the Day 3
On Wednesday, the Main Event of the European Poker Tour Vienna linked up with its Day 3. 189 players were present in Hofburg Palace, in Vienna at the beginning of the day. But after five levels of 90 minutes, only 50 players qualified for the Day 4. These survivors of the day are assured to leave with money, because the tournament counted 135 paid places; which means that the 80 players eliminated during the day left the poker room with a minimum gain of 8,700. Pablo Gordillo finished chipleader at the end of the day with a stack of 2,111,000. Anatoly Filatov finished in the second place of the chipcount with 1,500,000 chips. The other players who occupy a comfortable place at the start of the Day 4 were Timo Pfutzenreuter (1,065,000), Simeon Naydenov (1,040,000), Miltiadis Kyriakides (1,034,000) and Wilfried Harig (1,005,000).
The Day 4 will also count on the presence of notable players such as the winner of the ranking of the Season III of the France Poker Series, Miroslav Alilovic (990,000), the winner of the WPT Montreal 2012, the Quebec player Jonathan Roy (423,000), Ludovic Riehl (522,000), Clement Thumy (285,000) and Michel Abecassis (130,000). Gus Hansen and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom were less fortunate in Vienna. Both specialists of high stakes poker were eliminated respectively in the 71st and 77th place, during the level 18 of the day. Other notable players like Vladimir Geshkenbein, Sam Trickett, Bertrand Elky Grospellier, Martin Staszko and David Vamplew have also missed by little the title during this Day.
