EPT Vienna 2014: Gordillo remains at the top of the Main Event semifinalists
After four days of competition at Hofburg Palace, the semifinalists of the Main Event of the European Poker Tour Vienna are finally known. 50 poker players have taken the departure of the Day 4, but at the end of the day, after five levels of 90 minutes, there were only 17 players left. Chipleader at the start of the day, Pablo Gordillo managed to remain among the front runners but conceded the first place of the chipcount to the German Timo Pfutzenreuter with a huge stack of almost four million chips. Timo Pfutzenreuter is going to begin the Day 5 with 3,837,000 chips, closely followed by Pablo Gordillo (3,582,000). Four players also are in a rather favorable place with more than 2 million chips, namely Anthony Ghamrawi (2,790,000), Simeon Naydenov (2,324,000), Frei Dilling (2,280,000) and Gavin O'Rourke (2,071,000), while the rest of the field was far behind with a stack included between 1, 6 million and 400,000 chips.
Thus, the Day 5 will be played with other players such as Dan Murariu (1,660,000), Umberto Vitagliano (1,653,000), Johnny Lodden (1,130,000), Marko Neumann (1,096,000), Rumen Nanev (1,003,000), Roman Korenev (967,000), Andras Kovacs (903,000), Patrick Fasching (560,000), Sebastian Panny (498,000), Mike Adamo (494,000) and Oleksii Khoroshenin (437,000). As for eliminated, we find among others the winner of the WPT Montreal 2011 Jonathan Roy (49th), Michel Abecassis(38th), Ludovic Riehl (37th), Clément Thumy (33rd) and Miroslav Alilovic (32nd). The poker tournament will resume this Friday at noon, until the eight players of the final table would be defined.
