Eureka Poker Tour: Zoltan Gal wins the 1st step of the Season IV
In the margins of the European Poker Tour in Vienna, the room of the Palace Hofburg in Austria hosted last week the first step of the season 4 of the Eureka Poker Tour. The event was as high as its ambitions because 1,432 players were present in this all transformed in poker room. With its buy-in of 1,100, the event guaranteed a prizepool of 1,389,040, shared between the 215 players of the paid places. This inaugural stage of the Eureka Poker Tour Season IV was honored by the presence of some notable players, following the example of the French Benjamin Pollak, of the British Zimnan Ziyard (winner of the EPT Loutraki 2011) or the Italian Max Pescatori (2 WSOP bracelets).
The final table of this poker tournament was played on Sunday with the eight survivors of this poker event. Markus Stöger begun the final as chipleader with 5,495,000 chips, followed by Bryan Paris (5,430,000), Andreas Freund (4,515,000), Blazej Przgorzewski (4,450,000), Robert Malinowski (3,305,000), Zoltan Gal (2,245,000), Stavros Kalfas (1,050,000) and Erik Scheidt (950,000). The Hungarian Zoltan Gal won the tournament after a heads-up with the Australian Andreas Freund. Gal counted an advantage of 3:1 in chips at the beginning of the final heads up with 20.7 million against 7.6 millions. The Hungarian was rewarded with 208,655 for his remarkable performance, against 174,655 for Andreas Freund after a deal. In the 3rd place, we find the Polish Blazej Przygorzewski (98,210) followed by the Australian Markus Stoger (56,600), the American Bryan Paris (72,230), the Greek Stavros Kalfas (42,230), the German Erik Scheidt (33,090) and the Polish Robert Malinowski (23,430), first eliminated of the final table.
