Deepstack Open 2014: Éric Abbas stands out in Cannes
During last weekend, the casino Barrière Cannes Croisette was the host of a stage of the Deepstack Open. The new season of the DSO is well and truly launched after the inaugural step in Barcelona in February. The poker room of the Croisette knew an important rush from March 20th to 23rd of this year, with the holding of the DSO Cannes. The Main Event with a buy-in of 550 attracted 622 players. The event guaranteed a prizepool of about 300,000, shared between the 125 players of paid places. Out of the 622 registered of the Day 1, only 10 managed to qualify for the final table of last Sunday: Yann Belkheir, Gérard Demailly, Jean-François Valliere, Anthony Kazgandjian, Éric Abbas, Jonathan Khalifa, Alexandre Hocquaux, Dimitri Zhauner, Viken Kasmayian and Simeone Vuillet.
This poker event was won by Éric Abbas after a heads-up with the runner-up of the FPS Cannes, Yann Belkheir. Éric Abbas signed his first victory on the live circuit and pocketed 40,000, while Yann Belkheir contented himself with a second place rewarded with 25,000. In the third place, we find Dimitri Zhauner (17,000), followed by Simeone Vuillet (4th, 13,000), Gérard Demailly (5th, 11,100), Anthony Kazgandjian (6th, 9,800), Alexandre Hocquaux (7th, 8,800), Jean-François Valliere (8th, 7,800), Viken Kasmayian (9th, 6,800) and Jonathan Khalifa (10th, 5,800). After this second step of the season in Cannes, the circuit Deepstack Open will take place in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. The Pasino de Saint Amand will be the host of this new event in France, from April 30th to May 4th, before going in Costa Brava in June 19th.
