Live tournaments: Matthew Lapossie and Alex Spencer under the spotlights
With February which is already breaking into its last days, poker tournaments begin also to register a good rhythm after a beginning of the year rather calm, of course apart from some regular appointments. Concerning the World Poker Tour Fallsview Poker Classic (WPT) in Canada which has gathered 383 opponents, its Matthew Lapossie who stood out during its Main Event with a buy-in of $5,000. For Lapossie, this triumph which has allowed him to pocket $342,266 is one of his greatest achievements in live poker tournaments. Before, his prizelist was limited to a 7th place in the European Poker Tour Barcelona. In Fallsview, its after having ousted his compatriot Dylan Wilkerson that the Canadian had access to the title. For the runner-up of the tournament, he nevertheless pocketed $228,806. Let us note that after this first Canadian stage, the WPT will stop over in Los Angeles in March from 1st to 6th of this year, for the tournament LA Poker Classic, and in San Diego in March from 10th to 14th for the Bay 101 Shooting Star, before starting the great festival of Venice.
Concerning the Sky Poker United Kingdom Poker Championship, this very British poker appointment ended with the victory of Alex Spencer. His triumph will certainly propel him at the top of the ranking UKPC. Aged of only 23 years old, this player of poker registers a beautiful achievement thanks to this victory, by standing out during this event with an entry-fee of £1,100. He began the final heads up opposing him to Danny Blair as chipleader. The confrontation ended quickly by his victory. Spencer has won £125,000 and a package of £15,000. On the other hand, his runner-up returned home with a reward of £75,000. The third place is occupied by Paul Delaney who has pocketed £50,000 for the occasion.
