European Poker Awards: Ole Schemion, the great winner of the year
By the occasion of the European Poker Tour which is currently held at the Casino Barrière of Deauville, Global Poker Index has taken advantage to award the GPI European Poker Awards. The ceremony took place in Ambassadors Hall of the establishment. This thirteenth edition of the GPI European Poker Awards was simply superb with the presence of all icons of European poker and fanatics who came in large number to revive the 2013 season and its most beautiful moments, with the reward of price for the best poker player in Europe. Ten trophies were distributed throughout the evening, under the animation of the pretty Gaëlle Garcia-Diaz.
Without surprise, the Geramn Ole Schemion won the title of the « Live European Player of the Year ». Philipp Gruissem received the title of the « Best Tournament Performance », while the title of « Rookie of the Year » went normally to Adrian Mateos Diaz. Ana Marquez was elected « Europe's Leading Lady » and Toby Lewis received the distinction of « Internet Player of the Year ». The title of « Poker Industry Person of the Year » was awarded to Neil Johnson. Barny Boatmans performance throughout his career has allowed him to win the « Lifetime Achievement Award ». Roger Hairabedian received the « Rob Gardner Memorial », as being the personality of the year 2013. The poker tournament UKIPT Galway Festival was elected « Best European Event of the Year ». And as the poker tournaments are played wit the active participation of dealers, the entirety of European dealers has received the « Jury Prize ». Its a praise done to this whole staff which assures the good holding of events.
