Global Poker Index: No change for the leading trio, ElkY wins some places
Like each week, Global Poker Index brings an update in its ranking of the 300 best players of poker in the world. For the GPI classification dating back to January 27th, Ole Schemion, Daniel Negreanu and Marvin Rettenmaier keep the three first places. Philipp Gruissem also keeps his fourth place, while Dan Smith (5th) and Vanessa Selbst (6th) have swapped their places. Ravi Raghavan rises in the 7th place and thus relegates Paul Volpe, Mike McDonald and Bryn Kenney to the three last places of the top 10. In the 11th place, we find Shannon Shorr, Stephen O'Dwyer, Michael Watson, Joni Jouhkimainen, Noah Schwartz, Jonathan Duhamel, Erik Seidel, Roger Hairabedian, Joe Kuether and Jeffrey Rossiter to complete the top 20 of this week.
After being included in the top 10 a few weeks before, Bertrand « ElkY » Grospellier was relegated in the 28th place of the GPI. But this week, the French won 5 places and climbs in the 23rd position, just behind David Peters thanks to paid places during the two poker tournaments in this beginning of the year. In fact, ElkY finished 23rd in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2014 of Bahamas, and 32nd in the High Roller tournament of the France Poker Series of Deauville. These two paid places have allowed him to start the year with a gain of 8,340 in live tournament. Philippe Ktorza (135th) has garnered 50 places in the GPI ranking, thanks to a 16th place awarded with 8,050 in the FPS High Roller.
