Global Poker Index: The nominees for the European Poker Awards VII
By the occasion of the seventh edition of the European Poker Tour of Deauville, which will take place from January 22nd at the Casino Barrière of Deauville, the Global Poker Index has decided to organize the thirteenth edition of the GPI European Poker Awards. This celebration which is similar to the Golden Globes, appointment of the best of American cinema and series, will gather the best of poker with beautiful trophies to win. This poker event will be held on Wednesday, January 29th in the Room of Ambassadors, with nine prizes awarded, including the « Live European Player of the Year » which will be certainly won by Ole Schemion, first European player of the ranking GPI 2013.
Without surprise, the trophy « Europe's Leading Lady » will be awarded to the Spanish Ana Marquez, first European player of the classification GPI 2013. For the trophy « Best Tournament Performance », the nominees are Ole Schemion, Barny Boatman, Philipp Gruissem, Roger Hairabedian and Marvin Rettenmaier. Martin Finger, Max Altergott, Matthew Ashton and Adrian Mateos Diaz will play the title of « Rookie of the Year ». For the « Poker Industry Person of the Year Award », we find Marc Convey (journalist and commentator), Neil Johnson (specialist of live events at PokerStars), Edgar Stuchly (President of the European Poker Tour) and Lee Davy (journalist, editorial writer and commentator). The « Internet Player of the Year Award » will be awarded to the one between Viktor Blom, Niklas Heinecker, Toby Lewis and Chris Moorman. For the «Best European Event of the Year Award », the title will be played between the EPT Barcelona, the EPT Grand Final Monte Carlo, the UKIPT Galway Festival and the Prague Poker Festival. The « Rob Gardner Memorial Award for the poker personality of the year » and the « Lifetime Achievement » will be known during the celebration.
