Nevada: Increase of online poker traffic during the Christmas holidays
The legal market of online poker in the United States was opened since last November 2013. The industry of poker in New Jersey was more promising than that of Nevada and Delaware since its launching. But against all odds, online poker in Nevada has known an increase of its traffic within these 30 last days, a period which coincides with Christmas holidays. In fact, the two online poker rooms of the State of Nevada have just registered a traffic increasing by 20% during this period, while all in all, since the launching of online poker inside the State, the offer was declining in Nevada, compared with the one of New Jersey. This raise of the traffic during the Christmas holidays puts an end to the regress of traffic on online poker rooms during holidays periods.
WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker, which are also present in New Jersey, are the two rooms approved in Nevada. Both share the liquidity inside the State, with 55% for WSOP.com and 45% for Ultimate Poker. The granting of license for the other rooms such as Treasure Island or South Point Poker remains pending. Within a week, both rooms have attracted respectively 110 and 60 players of cash game. But to promote more the industry of poker in the United States, the sharing of liquidity between the three States is necessary. Discussions about an interstate offer have already been started before, but any decision has been taken for the moment.
