Dakar Poker Tour 7: Steven Marrucci won the Main Event
Since a few years, Senegal became a favorite destination for Europeans, not only for its beautiful landscapes but also for the holding of the Dakar Poker Tour (DPT). Strong of its six previous seasons, the DPT could always cherish its players, hence its great fame in this part of the west of Africa. Numerous regulars of the circuit and of poker tournaments at Terrou-bi travelled this weekend, in order to participate in this one of the most select events in Africa. But finally, the victory went to Steven Marrucci, after a heads-up with Jean-François Bertrand. After the Deepstack tournament which ended by the victory of Jacob Attal, the players turned towards the Main Event. This poker event raised the keen interest of numerous of regular players, following the example of the winner of the previous edition, Pierre Daw and his father Philippe, runner-up of the DPT 6, Ali Chahrour, Hassan Fares, Imad Derwiche, Bernard Guigon, Sébastien Compte, Christophe Jadoun and Kamel Tafer, among others, among the 87 registered.
Pierre Daw was eliminated during the Day 2. Its the same for the winner of the DPT 5, Sébastien Compte, who finished the Main Event of the Dakar Poker Tour 7 as bubble boy. The prizepool of 85,000 (CFA 56, 550,000) was shared between the 14 players left, for a minimum gain of 1,982. Steven Marrucci won the event and pocketed 24,392. Runner-up of this poker tournament, Jean-François Bertrand went home with 15,367. In the rest of the paid places, we find Sadri Saleh in the 3rd place with 9,604, followed by Mohamed Bennani (6,174) and Samir Rahal (5,092) for the Top 5 of this Main Event of the DPT 7.
