World Poker Tour: Oklahoma chosen to host a stop of the WPTs 14th season
In comparison with the World Series Of Poker and the Card Player Poker Tour, the World Poker Tour is a great reference in poker festival worldwide. In the past, the WPT would run a number of tour stops in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and in Florida, which is a fairly logical choice considering the fact that these cities are home to regular participants at live poker tournament. This time, the WPT organizers have decided to include Oklahoma among the scheduled stops for the upcoming season. Actually, the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant will play host to another leg of the World Poker Tour/ season 14. Indeed, this is the first time the tour will land on Oklahoma. Ambitious as they are, the organizers expect it to gain popularity among Oklahoman poker players. Note that the city of Durant and Choctaw Casino have always hosted numbers of renowned poker tournaments. The latest case in point is the Card Player Poker Tour, an event held in August at Choctaw.
The $ 1,500 buy-in CPPT Choctaw Casino Main Event attracted 599 players. Emerging victorious from the event was Texas Austin Lewis. He took home the $ 183,025 first-place prize. Teased by a massive player-field previously, the WSOP Circuit is making a comeback next year. As for the 2014-2015 World Poker Tour season, the stop at Durant is scheduled from July 31 to August 3rd, 2015, prior to the season-ending of the WPT Legends of Poker and WPT Cyprus. Pending this, the ongoing WPTs 13th season runs the WPT Five Diamond at Bellagio, Las Vegas, from December 15, 2014.
