Online gambling: Borgata, the first operator approved in New Jersey
The casino of Atlantic City, operated by Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts International, will be the first operator of online poker on the legal market of New Jersey. In fact, the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) of the State has just granted to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa its operating license in online gambling. For its offers in New Jersey, Borgata entered in partnership with one of the world-famous providers, namely bwin.party Digital Entertainment. This approval was delivered this Wednesday and the platform of online gaming of Boyd and MGM should open the market of online gambling in New Jersey in November 26th of this year, according to the director of the DGE, Dave Rebuck. But before this official opening, the operator still has to pass through the trial period of 5 days. And if the tests are decisive, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will offer its table games and its online slot machines in November 26th about 09:00 a.m.
Borgata is the first operator which received a license in this American State but other licenses should be granted within a few months following its opening. Among the other operators which applied for a license near the DGE, we retain the case of Caesars Entertainment, which is going to offer its online gaming New Jersey with 888 Holdings. Caesars is already proposing online offers in Nevada, through the brand WSOP. In partnership with Resorts Casino, the giant of poker PokerStars could be back on the American market after the Black Friday, if the DGE approves its license application.
