Online poker: A trial period of 5 days in New Jersey
After Nevada, itÂ’s the State of New Jersey which gets ready to make the big step to get involved in the market of online poker. The New Jersey Gaming Enforcement Division announced that the license applicants who meet its requirements will benefit from next November 21st, of a trial period of 5 days. This initiative has been implemented in order to test the magnitude of online gaming and its impacts in the short run, in the environment of gambling in New Jersey. The accessibility to online gaming during this period, before its official launching will be reserved only for guests. The Gaming Enforcement Division of the State gets ready to launch officially the online gaming in New Jersey, especially poker, from November 26th of this year.
The casinos of Atlantic City will be among these operators which can be tested during this trial period, if they satisfy the conditions pre-established by the regulator. At present, nine out of the twelve casinos of the city announced their partnership with operators of online gaming. Among these casinos, we retain the case of Taj Mahal Casino Resort, which signed with Ultimate Gaming, the operator of Ultimate Poker in Nevada, and also the Trump Plaza which entered into partnership with Betfair. At the opening of the market in November 26th, only the residents of the State of New Jersey will be able to take advantage of the intra-state market of online poker. Visitors and all those travelling in New Jersey will be able also to play, but their location will be confirmed by GPS.
