Nevada: Possible saturation of the market with the launch of the 2nd online poker room
After the launch of Ultimate Poker on last April 30th, Caesars Entertainment Corp. and the World Series of Poker launched the platform wsop.com for enthusiasts of online poker in Nevada. This new poker room was published online on last Thursday. But observers and operators themselves seem worried about the possible saturation of the market. In fact, the number of players inside the State didnt evolve while competition has just increased. The importance of the market of online poker in Nevada hasnt been revealed yet by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, since the opening of Ultimate Poker, but some actors of the sector are already counting on a saturation of the market. The NGCB waits the implementation of at least three platforms in Nevada, before reviewing on the market of online poker. For that purpose, at least three rooms of online poker are expected until the end of the year, following the example of 888 Poker, Treasure Island and South Point.
Currently, the revenue of online poker is mixed with the one of live poker. The revenue of the County of Clark, where is established Station Casinos, the operator of Ultimate Poker, has known a progress of 55.4% at $2.1 million in July. To develop the market, the two operators laud for a sharing of liquid assets with other regulated States. The regulation of the interstate market became a necessity for Nevada; an opinion shared by the president of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Mitch Garber, and his counterpart Ultimate Gaming, Tom Breitling. The governor Brian Sandoval is in favor of this idea of common liquid assets. And according to observers, New Jersey would be the future partner of Nevada.
