WPT National Series: The Accumulator format applicable in London step
The London step of the World Poker Tour National Series circuit (WPT) will start within a few weeks. This poker tournament will take place at Aspers casino, in Westfield Stratford City, from October 24th to 27th. For this edition 2013, organizers will propose a great novelty to poker players. In fact, they decided to apply the Accumulator format and associate it to the re-entry formula, for the main event of the WPT National London. Thus, during this event at 200 buy-in, players will be able to participate in several Days1, that gives them more chance to qualify for the rest of the competition; and thanks to this Accumulator form, they will be also able to keep all chips won at each attempt. So, they could start the Day 2 with a more significant stack.
Let us note that the Accumulator format was launched for the first time in Australia, during the Aussie Millions and a priori, it generated the expected success. By applying this new formula, the WPT National Londons organizers expect thereby to register a record field. As a reminder, the same event was played in a traditional freezout format last year. The entrance fee for the tournament was amounted at £1,650 and 218 players have taken part in it. The title went to Reece Lewis. In breaking news, the same format will be applicable in other steps of the WPT National Series, namely that of Milton Keynes, Northampton and Newcastle; but no confirmation concerning these steps was given.
