Global Poker Index: Marvin Rettenmaier again leader

Leader of the Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking during several weeks, the American professional of poker Jason Mercier lost finally the place of honor. For the last update of the GPI, he is in the third position and has 3,149.04 points. The player who succeeded to dethrone him is none other than the German Marvin Rettenmaier. He won two places. The silver medal went to Daniel Negreanu. The Canadian came from a long way because during the last update, he was in the 7th position; it is a huge progress which shows Negreanu’s skill to play poker. Philipp Gruissem and Joseph Cheong complete the top 5. Both of them have just exchanged their place. Thus, Joseph Cheong bowed in the 5th position.

Ole Schemion also recorded a good progress this week. From now on, he is in the 6th position, while he was at the bottom of the top 10. The great loser of the week is Stephen O'Dwyer, because he was among the top 3, he has just lost 5 places and occupies now the 7th position. Michael Watson (6th) and Igor Kurganov (9th) lost a place; while Paul Volpe progressed of one place and occupied the 10th position. The French number one Bertrand Grospellier is always in the 13th position. On the other hand, the world champion Jonathan Duhamel realized a good course, because he is in the 15th position, while last week, he was not even among the top 20.
