EPT Barcelona: 235 survivors at the end of the Day 2
The European Poker Tour of Barcelona was marked by the participation of 1,234 players, a new record attendance for the event. The 711 players of the Day 1A and 409 of the Day1B were joined by 6 players who have taken advantage of late registrations till the beginning of the Day 2, to participate in the Main Event of the EPT Barcelona. This attendance generated a prizepool of 5, 984,900 which will be shared between the 183 players of paid places. The winner of this Barcelona step of the European Poker Tour Season X will pocket a gain of 1,067,000, a luxury watch and a bracelet. 697 players have taken the departure of this Day 2, but at the end of the day, only 235 players were left in the running. Most of great names of live poker were eliminated: Jonathan Duhamel, Eugene Katchalov, Vanessa Selbst, Max Lykov, James Dempsey, Dan Smith or Fabian Quoss.
Winner of the Latin American Poker Tour in Chili, in March of this year, the Argentinian Pablo Tavitian is at the top of the list at the start of the Day 3, but players such as David Benefield, Marvin Rettenmaier, Ole Schemion, Mike Watson, Russell Thomas, Victor Ramdin, Kevin McPhee, Martin Staszko or Dermot Blain are also pretenders for the title. The Day 3 of this poker tournament can always rely on a significant feminine presence, with the qualifications of Jamila Von Perger, Petra Hruskova, Hui Chen-Kuo and Therese Gronstad, which brings a glamorous touch to the competition.
