WPT Cyprus: Alexey Rybins victory at the Main Event
Alexey Rybin has just won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour Season XII circuits first step. Thus, he succeeds to the German Marvin Rettenmaier who, as a reminder, became more famous on the circuit by winning the High Roller. 262 players went in the poker room of Merit Crystal Cove Hotel & Casino during the Day 1 of this Main Event, but only six players survived during the final table. Alexey Rybin is a real revelation of this inaugural step of the Season XII of the World Poker Tour. He was royal throughout this poker tournament, as he took the chiplead by this Day 1A till the end of the final table. For this overwhelming beautiful victory, the Russian pocketed a gain of $258,000 which includes a package of 25,000 for the great final of the World Poker Tour in Las Vegas.
The final table started badly for Alexey Rybin who lost his chiplead since the first levels of this game. But it was only temporary because the Russian regained games in hand to win again the lead of the chipcount, till the final heads-up with Albert Daher. For his second place, the Lebanese pocketed $160,200. In the third place, we find again Andrei Nikonov who left the table with $103,700, followed by Kayahan Tugrul (4th, $75,600), Sergey Rybachenko (5th, $56,600) and Pierre Sayegh (6th, $46,000). After Cyprus, the circuit will link up with the WPT Legends of Poker, from August 29th to September 4th, at the Bicycle Casino in Bells Garden, in California.
