Heartland Poker Tour: Bob Chow stands out at Majestic Star
Majestic Star Casino Hotel of Gary, in Indiana, in the United States hosted since last week the 5th step of the poker tournament Heartland Poker Tour. 520 players have taken the departure of the Main Event after they paid the buy-in of $1,650. After three days spent in the poker room of Majestic Star, nine players qualified for the final table which was held on Monday; namely Bob Chow, Vu Huang, Bruce Knee, Darryl Ronconi, Joe Wilson, David Gutfreund, Mike Deis, Thomas Schrepfer and Murat Muftari. But at the end of the day, it was the winner of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Circuit Hammond 2012, Bob Chow, who won the title and the $171,534, after a heads-up with Vu Huang. However, the latter settled with a gain of $104,859.
The final table guaranteed a minimum gain of $14,916. The day started with the elimination of Murat Muftari. Bob Chow eliminated thereafter Thomas Schrepfer (8th, $18,645), Mike Deis (7th, $22,744), Darryl Ronconi (5th, $36,171) and Joe Wilson (4th, $48,328). Vu Huang got involved on the case of David Gutfreund who, eliminated at the 5th place, pocketed $27,968. The elimination of Bruce Knee at the third place allowed Bob Chow and Vu Huang to meet in heads-up. It was necessary to wait 29 hands so that the fifty-year-old coming from Illinois could get rid of his opponent. The next step of the Season IX of the Heartland Poker Tour will take place in Colorado, in the sumptuous Golden Gates Casino, from September 6th to 16th of this year.
