Main event of the UKIPT Galway: Overwhelming victory of Alan Gold
The poker festival United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Galway ended on Monday, with the victory of Alan Gold at the Main Event. 629 players took the departure of the event since Thursday, August 8th, but only 8 players withstood until the last day: Damian Porebski, Dimitri Pembroke, Paul Febers, Jonathan Slater, Daragh Davey, Alan Gold, Benjamin Spragg and Christy Morkan. Alan Gold started the final table as chipleader, with more than 4 million chips, while his direct pursuer had 600,000 chips less, Daragh Davey (3,435,000). This final table was one of the fastest in poker tournament, because it took only four hours to determine the winner. The Scottish, known to be able to play poker well, pocketed 187,494 and free tickets for the four next steps of the Season IV, namely the UKIPT Series 3 in London, UKIPT London, UKIPT Isle of Man and UKIPT Nottingham, from September 27th of this year.
The elimination of the first player was very fast. In fact, it took no longer than 30 minutes so that Jonathan Slater left the final table with a gain of 16,500. Christy Morkan (22,310) was the next player who left the final table, followed a few hands after by Benjamin Spragg (30,210) and Damian Porebski (45,300). With four players remaining, the round was intense and Dimitri Pembroke (62,000) was the first to crack up. Daragh Davey also didnt resist a long time and felt in the 3rd place, for a gain of 80,400. Alan started the heads-up with 12 million chips against 4.755 million for Paul Febers. The face-to-face was short and Febers left the tournament with a gain, for his place of runner-up.
