GUKPT Bolton: Michael Clarke stands out at the Main Event
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is one of the poker tournaments that self-respecting players in the United Kingdom dont miss for nothing in the world. During the end of last week, G Casino of Bolton hosted the 8th step of the Season 2013 of the GUKPT. 133 players, among which 44 at the Day 1A and 89 at the Day 1B, have paid £550 to take part in the Main Event of three days. At the end of the two departure days, the Main Event of the GUKPT Bolton had only 32 players left. During the weekend, the later came back in the poker room of G Casino, with the hope to qualify for the final table or at worst, finish within the 13 paid places for a minimum gain of £1,000. But 17 among them have prematurely left the Day 2, as from the first level of 60 minutes. Tina Bandyle was the first player ousted from the ITM.
The elimination of John Wood has allowed to the 9 remaining players to qualify for the final table, led by Michael Clarke with 602,500 chips. Among the other qualified for this final straight, we find again respectively Todd Robinson, Kerry OConnor, Mark Dyson, Don Alpert, Allan McLean, Liam Batey, Martin Hogarty and James Conway. During the final table, Michael Clarke kept his advance until the last heads-up with Todd Robinson. Leading the heads-up with 1.6 million chips against 1.2 million for his opponent, Michael Clarke stood out within less than one hour of game. He was rewarded with £20,000 against £14,140 for Todd Robinson, runner-up of the GUKPT Boltons Main Event.
