UKIPT Galway: Alan Gold, chipleader of the Main Events final table
The Main Event of the poker tournament United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Galway exceeded expectations, with the registration of 860 players throughout the two departure days. The 231 participants of the Day 1A were joined by 629 others, at the Day1B. With its buy-in of 1,100, the guaranteed prizepool of one million euro was widely overpassed: 1,140,000. At the end of the two departure days, 282 players managed to qualify for the Day2, among whom 105 were rewarded with a gain of more than 2,000. Only 51 players have survived at the end of the day. This poker tournament was marked by the lost of some well known players outside the ITM, following the example of Daniel Bavec, Hana Soljan, Liam Flood, Chris Derrick, Dave Masters, Jon Kalmar or John Magill.
Tim Michels was at the top of the 51 survivors for the Day 3, held on Sunday in Galway City, inside the poker room of Full Tilt Village. Other players such as Andrew Dwyer, Raul Paez, Padraig Parkinson and Dino Sabatini have also occupied a favorable place at the start of the Day 3, which had as stake, the 8-handed final table. The chipleader of the Day 1A, Alan Gold, was at the head of the chipcount at the end of the day, with a stack of 4,050,000 chips. The other finalists are Daragh Davey with his 3,435,000 chips, followed by Paul Febers (2,910,000), Dimitri Pembroke (1,915,000), Jonathan Slater (1,600,000), Benjamin Spragg (1,440,000), Christy Morkan (695,000) and Damian Porebski (695,000). As a reminder, the winner of the Main Event of the UKIPT Galway will pocket 205,600.
